this song is epic. the first pluck of the guitar string hits like a mellow dampened bass that resonates somewhere inside you, and continues with more intensity, disallowing any chance of repose, leaving you feeling a little shaken. it makes your heart sink as if being struck ever so gently each time that bass note is hit, but at the same time, cushioned and warm as if held tightly in embrace. Gonzales' voice, especially the higher parts, gives you chills and you start to feel alone, as if everything around you starts distancing itself from you. They eventually become insignificant, and its as if they exist around you, but your senses just dont seem to respond to them. The repetition keeps you stuck in that moment. The echoing reverberations start becoming comforting, and you get lost within yourself. It feels safe... yet vulnerable 'cause your body's all you've got. Its your only defense, but you just remain, basking in whatever comfort it brings. But then, the song concludes abruptly with that last note echoing inside you, leaving you feeling slightly empty and alone, as if without a heartbeat.
