music: when i'm gone - the click five
the train journey was so worth it.
6th to 9th november
Singapore to KL
so completely sleep deprived. because of the exams, and then the wobbly train ride, then the exitement from the show, then again the train ride home. i fell asleep on my nice lovely bed this morn. and just got up
i've so much to say. i've learnt a lot from this trip. about band touring, and generally what its like as a performer and how important the crowd's energy is. but of course, i'll never really know till i do it for real.
i finally understand why everyone in the industry says that the crowds energy is so important. and i understood it but not as much as i now do.
what i wanna say is that we sat behind joey and the crowd in frnt were stupid. i mean, the guys in the back of the crowd were having fun but the ones in front were trying to stay on they're feet. and it wasnt nice to see. i was behind joey so what i saw wasnt very nice. they weren't really singing. and i mean, as a performer, as a musician, as a songwriter, the reason you get yourself into music is probably because well, for the music. you'd want people to be having fun, singing the songs you wrote dancing to them and appreciating it for all the right reasons. i guess thats why ben loves japan so much. japanese fans are awesome.
it felt really nice when they turned around and smiled at us (:
x.
Joey posted this. it made me feel really awed. i think thats the word. i searched the meaning. Joey:
"so far i've been to the philippines, thailand, indonesia, malaysia, singapore, japan, canada and the UK and i can say people are absolutely no different than each other...i can have the exact same conversation in every country and find an easy common ground in humor, moral ideals, sadness and dreams. they are all amazing and im so glad i've gotten a chance to meet everyone i have. the other day i visited a buddhist temple with my muslim friend. it was a great interfaith experience to be able to have three backgrounds come together and share in a common smile. i hope i can continue to have more experiences like that while im here. it's reaffirming what i've always believed to be the case...that people around the world are all the same. they want to be happy and they want other people to be happy...its the authorities be it political or religious that screw everything up because of their quest of power and authority. hope it doesnt sound like im trying to get on a soapbox because im not..i know im saying nothing profound...just feel like i have a pretty rad opportunity to be able to travel to all these places and meet so many awesome people"
